Todays Whotsit
During our trips around we came upon a church in Brightling that had this Pyramid under which squire John Fuller is buried, he died in 1834 but had arranged for the pyramid to be built in 1810. John Fuller built five follies around the area one is a 10.7metres high and it was built it was said so that he could see Bodiam castle there is also a folly shaped like a temple and another called the Sugar Loaf which was built as a result of a wager he had with a friend that he could see Dallington church from his house .When he found that he could not see the church he had the Sugar Loaf built to mimic a church spire and enable him to win the bet.
